On Wednesday, June 5th, The Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce declared it “HOPE day”! On this day, HOPE unveiled its’ new location for our Healthy Teaching Kitchen and Senior Health and Wellness Pantry at 305 E. Arch Street. Now HOPE has a footprint in the both the county and the city.

This newly remodeled to suit location will serve 200 income-qualified senior adults with monthly over-the-counter medicines, hygiene items, shelf staple foods and fresh items like meats, cheese, eggs, and milk. HOPE takes it one step further and offers nutrition education classes that nurture skills in food selection and preparation. The combination of providing healthy groceries and food consumption knowledge for clients will relieve hunger and prevent chronic nutrition issues impacting aging adults.

Our Healthy Teaching Kitchen also offers fun “for profit” classes to the community on topics such as Charcuterie Board Creations, Couponing, Table Scaping, and Bee Keeping. HOPE’s nutritionist, Katey Powell, also partners with other non-profits in the area to host health classes on Hypertension for all ages and Building Blocks Classes for young mothers.

A big “thank you” to our community for your outpouring of support at this monumental event for HOPE!
