The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) is coming to Lancaster County.  The goal of the program is to supplement the diets of low-income seniors with fresh, nutritious produce and to support South Carolina’s small farmers.

HOPE in Lancaster, Inc. in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Social Services will be issuing $25 worth of coupons to low income individuals age 60 and older.  These coupons must be used at participating markets from May 2018 through October 15, 2018.  The coupons will be issued on a first come first served basis until the supply is exhausted.

Applications must be submitted in person. Proof of identity and residence in Lancaster County is required in order to receive the free coupons. Applicants must also meet household income eligibility limits. Information regarding the income of all household members is required to determine eligibility. 

Individuals wishing to apply for homebound seniors must provide a statement from the senior granting permission to submit an application on their behalf.  Proof of identity and proof of income for the homebound senior must be presented at the time of application.

Vouchers will be distributed at the Lancaster Bowling Center, 1352 Reece Road, Lancaster, SC 29720

Tuesday, June 5, 12 noon – 4 p.m.

Wednesday, June 6, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Thursday, June 7, 12 noon – 4 p.m.

Friday, June 8, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Farmers will be on site each day to redeem coupons for fresh produce.
