Our Approach

HOPE provides specialized case-management and comprehensive care to our neighbors in need by effectively addressing crisis situations through education, advocacy, and support designed to encourage economic mobility.

Healthy Teaching Kitchen

The Healthy Teachng Kitchen is a cooking and nutrition education program that nurtures skills in food selection and preparation.  The Teaching Kitchen provides innovative, theory-based, cost-effective solutions to chronic food and nutrition problems impacting individuals and families in Lancaster County South Carolina.

FoodShare

“We believe access to fresh, affordable food should not be limited by where you live or how much you make.”- FOODSHARE SC

Our mission at HOPE through FOODSHARE – Lancaster  is to help individuals and families improve health by increasing access to farm fresh produce and nutritional and culinary education.

Economic Mobility

Life Changing Events such as chronic medical issues, the loss of a spouse, or a house fire can turn your life upside down.  The Social Work Staff can help unravel the pieces and find a new financial plan so that you can move forward while dealing with your current crisis.

Fresh & Healthy Food Initiative

Food is a primary component of all household budgets  and can free up money to put towards an emergency , bridging the gap during a difficult time.   Our Food Pantry has evolved to multiple pantries reaching both the northern and southern parts of our county, meeting the changing needs of various life stages as well as house-hold make-ups.

Why I give….

“We love partnering with HOPE in Lancaster because of their love and passion to serve people in the community. Their vision of helping to build a “caring community where all people have the opportunity to become self-sufficient and sustain a fulfilling lifestyle,” closely aligns with our mission to serve the Lord and help improve the quality of life for people and their pets.”

NUTRAMAX

I give to hope because they are efficient at meeting the needs of many people in the most effective ways.  The have a great system to determine who needs what and how they can be helped or directed.   I also love how passionate they are about helping people help themselves and giving them the tools and guidance to do so.
