The Lancaster County Community pitched in to support the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive with a collection of 15,054 pounds of food.   Special thanks to the United Way and the National Association of Letter Carriers for their commitment to this important project that helps to reduce hunger in our community.   The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive was held Saturday, May 11, 2019.   The county wide food drive comes at a critical time of the year when families are preparing for children to be home during the summer and are faced with additional food needs..  HOPE depends on this food each year to meet that need and to help fill the void for families.

We are so grateful for the dedication of the Letter Carriers who partner with the Staff of the United Way and HOPE in Lancaster.  In addition, the food drive provides a time when volunteers can come out and support their community by serving with families, co-workers and neighbors to help receive the food from the Letter Carriers at the Post Office, load the truck, and additional processing at HOPE before it can be placed with the families and individuals who are in need.  The food collected will serve approximately 1500 families and individuals.
